I did automotive styling design for undergrad. These are some projects of mine back then.
The reason I chose to pursue a master degree in industrial design was because, something about automotive styling design just didn’t “feel right” to me. I was trained to render beautiful renderings, styling and restyling a car so that it is more appealing to a specific market, which is, essentially just a part of planned obsolescence. Products like automobiles are not made to last anymore, they are just made to be consumed.
But I still feel grateful for my experience learning automotive design. I gained so many fundamental designer skills and had a peak into the most commercial aspect of industrial design.
